Detailed description
What it is: The Nexon.ev is Tata’s compact electric SUV built on the brand’s Ziptron architecture. For 2025, the lineup centres on two battery options—30 kWh (MR) for city-first buyers and 45 kWh (LR) for mixed city-highway use, the latter replacing the earlier 40.5 kWh pack and pushing the rated range to 489 km MIDC. Team-BHP.comTata Motors
Powertrain & performance: Both versions use a front-mounted permanent-magnet motor. Outputs are ~95 kW/215 Nm (MR) and ~106 kW/215 Nm (LR), with a claimed 8.9 s 0–100 km/h for the LR. Multiple regen levels and drive modes tailor response and efficiency. ElecTreeTata Motors EV
Battery, range & efficiency: The 45 kWh LR gets prismatic LFP cells and improved thermal management; Tata quotes 489 km (MIDC) and says 350–370 km is realistic in mixed use. The 30 kWh MR is rated up to ~275 km (MIDC). Expect typical real-world figures to be ~20–30% lower than MIDC depending on climate, speed and AC usage. Tata MotorsAutocar Pro
Charging: Using CCS2, the Nexon.ev supports 60 kW DC rapid charging (10–80% in ~40 min on the LR) and 7.2 kW AC home charging. Public AC points (3.3–7.4 kW) are widely compatible. Tata MotorsTata Motors EV
Safety: It’s among India’s safest EVs with a 5-star Bharat-NCAP rating for both adult and child protection; recent tests confirm the 45 kWh variant also holds 5-star, so the whole range is 5-star. Six airbags, ESC and TPMS are offered; a 360° camera and ADAS (on select trims, 2025 update) enhance driver assistance. BN CapThe Times of IndiaMeroauto
Cabin & tech: A slick cabin with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, 10.25-inch driver display, wireless connectivity, ventilated front seats (sel. variants), JBL audio and connected-car features. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) power-sharing are supported on higher trims. Tata Motors EVCarWale
Dimensions: ~3995 mm (L) × 1802 mm (W) × 1620 mm (H); wheelbase ~2498 mm; 350 L boot (variant-dependent). CarWale
Warranty: Tata offers industry-leading coverage including lifetime battery warranty (limited-time/terms; announced with the 45 kWh LR). Check the latest policy and exclusions in your city. CarWale
